Lost Weekend have been together for 15
years. They are made up of musicians who over the last 25 years have
rocked the stages of Britain, Europe and the world. With the
resurgence in guitar based music the band have been in huge demand,
indeed they have performed along side the likes of Gotthard, TNT,
Dokken, Magnum, Saxon, Wishbone Ash, Jeff Scott Soto and Winger etc,
in fact the list reads like a who's who of rock.
It was around the release of their
third opus "New Religion" that legendary Magnum vocalist
Bob Catley invited the band to support him on his solo tour of
Britain and Europe for which the band again impressed from the
start, this resulted in the band being asked to write Bob Catley's
next solo album Spirit Of Man.
The album as received worldwide
critical acclaim, and again the band was invited to tour with
Catley. In November 2006 the band released their fourth album, the
acclaimed Forever Moving On. The band spent 2007 promoting the
latest album with appearances at some of England's premier rock
festivals to great effect.
With a slight change in personnel the
band are now a twin guitar based band resulting in a heavier sound
more akin to the likes of the Scorpions, UFO and Thunder to name a
few. If you have not seen this band live with there current line-up
you have not seen this band at all. With four albums on sale around
the world and band on the eve of the best release to date with their
new album on Escape titled "Fear and Innocence" the band
goes from strength to strength.

Z AND LOST WEEKEND PART COMPANY ON
GOOD TERMS: Lost Weekend have parted company with Z Records by
mutual agreement. In a statement released by vocalist Paul Uttley "We
would like thank Mark for all his efforts while we were with the
label, but we feel with a new album already written and of a
slightly heavier feel a new approach and label would give the band
renewed impetus and re-energize all areas of the lost weekend camp,
an announcement regarding the future will follow shortly, once again
thanks to Mark and all at Z Rock."

March 2008 |
LOST WEEKEND were in the studio last
weekend demoing material for their 5 studio album. Paul Uttley
describes the new material as having influences from the classics
that Thunder, UFO, Scorpions and Whitesnake are best known for,
which is far removed from anything that LOST WEEKEND have done
previously. With a twin guitar line-up, the band feel that they can
stretch their creative muscles further than in previous incarnations
of the band. "New" boy, Paul 'Squiz' Surrall, has helped
mould a new and improved version of the band and has injected a
renewed enthusiasm into the existing band members. Tracks that were
demoed include : Stone Hearted Women, Find My Own Way, The Eagle,
Another Lonely Night In Tears, Only The Strong Survive, Life With
The Lid Taken Off and Backstreet Living.
The band will continue to work on new
material and hope to announce details of their forthcoming album
very soon. In addition to the writing and recording process, the
band are also lining up live dates to present the new material and
to dust off the old classics. These dates are to be announced
shortly.

LOST
WEEKEND JOIN Z ROSTER...
England's Lost Weekend have signed a
multi album deal with Z Records. Both parties had been in touch for
sometime but over recent months talks had moved along whilst other
labels also showed interest. The spark that led to the agreement
being signed was the bands show with Bob Catley in Sheffield when Z
attended to check out the band. Z boss Mark Alger was amazed by the
bands live performance and the amount of fans they where winning
over and the band where handed a draft contract on the night for
review!
The news of the record deal with Z
Records has been received with great enthusiasm by the band Paul
Uttley lead vocalist comments, "as some of you know we have
been busy not only writing our fourth album but also writing the
critically acclaimed Bob Catley album Spirit Of Man. In fact we have
just finished a hugely successful British tour in support of Bob
Catley and it was at one of the shows that mark came to see us when
we realized we all wanted the same thing." Dave Thompson
guitarist said: "We are a gigging band not as some of the acts
around projects, so not only will you be able to hear new material
from us you will see us play the material live at venues near where
you live. Also mark wants to develop the live area of what we do and
with the option of a fifth album we feel the deal offers us as a
band all we could ask for at this time and look forward to a
fruitful time by all concerned."
The bands fourth studio album will be
released August / September 2006.

LOST
WEEKEND PARTS WITH IRVIN...
Lost Weekend have parted company with
their keyboard player of the last 3 years Irvin Parratt.
Lead vocalist Paul Uttley states : "Over
the last few months Irvin as been under some pressure in his private
life. Resulting in him not being able to commit to the band fully.
With the band in heavy rehearsals in readiness for the Bob Catley
tour, we made the hard decision to replace Irvin with not a keyboard
player but another guitarist who goes under the name Squiz! He is a
fantastic player and will bring a harder edge to the band. We will
have to cancel our final warm-up gig at the Golden Lion, simply as
we need the time to fully work Squiz into the Lost Weekend sound.
We would all like to thank Irvin for
the contribution he has made to the band and our lives and wish him
all the best for the future."

BOB
CATLEY PRESS RELEASE...
MAGNUM singer BOB CATLEY is prepared
to make its impact on the European markets with the release of his
highly anticipated new studio album entitled "Spirit Of Man".
"Every album is as important to
me" says Catley, who adds "the last one, 'Spirit Of Man'
took over a year to make, I'm very proud of it and want it to be the
very best it can be, it's my 5th solo album but the first one on my
new label Frontiers, so that makes it pretty important too".
Nearly 3 years after the successful
release of "When Empires Burn", Catley comes back with a
renewed team of collaborators. "I think my three songwriters
this time, Dave Thompson, Paul Uttley and Vince O'Regan have done a
wonderful job for me, I'm extremely happy with it", says the
legendary British singer.
The final result "Spirit of Man"
is a varied album full of well- crafted, classy great rock music as
one would expect from Bob, who explains "I think the new album
has got elements of 'When Empires Burn' and 'The Tower' and some of
the older MAGNUM albums as well. That's what I'm known for, a
mixture of hard and heavy, soft and melodic rock".
The final tracklisting shall include

Frontiers Records is finally welcoming
on board with a direct signing Bob Catley, the singer of British
rock legends Magnum, for a multi-album deal!
Following the several years of
partnership through Now & Then Records, Frontiers and Bob have
decided to strengthen their ties and to announce together the
release of Bob Catley's new album in the works, tentatively titled
Temptation, for early 2006!
Temptation is currently in advanced
recording stages and feature Bob Catley's band renewed lineup with
longtime members Vince O'Regan on guitar, Al Barrow on bass and
Jamie Little on drums plus newcomer IRVIN PARRATT on
keyboards. The songwriting has been offered this time by DAVE
THOMPSON & PAUL UTTLEY (of LOST WEEKEND) and Vince O'Regan.
According to Bob, Temptation is set to
follow the more hard rock direction of his latest opus When Empires
Burn with songs as Heart of Stone, Moment Of Truth, Blinded By The
Lie and In The Name of the Cause being some examples of what is to
come.
Frontiers Records president Serafino
Perugino says: "We are absolutely excited to continue and
develop Bob Catley's solo career and we look forward to a more
exciting future together!"
We are also sorry to report that LOST
WEEKEND's support slot with BOB CATLEY on Friday 2nd September has
now been cancelled. Dave will continue to play with Bob and Vince on
Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th September. See the SHOWS section for
more information.
